iv been ttc for 18months and going through a bad patch. id like some time off work to get my head around things and sort myself out. is it easy to get a sick note from my gp for stress? its just my work is so fussy about time off

Damn right they will give you time off for stress related problems go to the GP explain to them what is going on and maybe you might have to get on some antidepressant drugs.....but they WILL give you time off even if it's for getting accustomed to the drug

It will depend on your gp. Does your job have an employee assistance program that can direct you to practitioners that deal with this at no cost to you? Check it out it might help. Also depends on your province/state/country

They will not give you time off for stress as far as I know. Your best bet is to talk to your human resouces person about taking time off using either sick leave or vacation time.

Your doc will likely give you a note if you ask, but your job doesn't have to accept that as an excuse.
