Ok hes running Rockford Fosgate Punch A2 500 watt amplifer powering two 10" Audiobahn D. Jones Edition subwoofers. we turned up the gain then we turned up the bass control to try and tune the volts to 31.6 which is the correct number to set the gain at for his setup and they were hitting good when we tuned them then he said on the way home they were hitting so hard the sound was distorted. and they just stoped working so he checked the fuse still fine and he opened the trunk and they smelt like they were burning. any ideas?

well if they can handel 300 rms and that amp might be capable of pushing that to each of the subs wouldnt the be matching the rms? and the volts wernt even right they were suposto be set higher which means that sub wasn't at full capacity which means less power going to the sub no?
