i bought a 100mw laser from this website, simmilar to the 50mw one http://safield.co.uk/product_info.php/cPath/40/products_id/356 this laser does not perfor as well as other 100mw lasers i have seen, my friend reckons it is possible to make them more powerful yourself. anyone know how?

You can't make it more powerful without replacing the laser diode which is basically the performing guts of the laser. You're best off just buying one more powerful. The laser diode probably has the power printed on it or at least on the pointer itself. If you don't think it's performing up to spec and you know you've got good, new batteries in it then I'd send it back to the company and ask for a replacement.
