Well early on of course it was because I had to, my parents are both Hindu. Then came that point in my life which I'm sure many people go through, where we question our faith and the validity of the scriptures, and God's nature given that so much is wrong with the world today.
After that, I came to the conclusion that I love having faith, which is not necessarily the same as having religion. My interests lie in spirituality, not necessarily the rituals that accompany religion. However, I'm open to people explaining the significance of rituals to me, as rituals were originally intended to provide a spiritual benefit for the seeker.

I believe religion is different from spirituality.
Religion is man made and the "BIBLE" was written by men same as you and me..But because they call themselves Prophets etc.. we are to believe every word they say?HM not likely.
I believe in a higher power for many reasons,(Because I need to believe we are all here for a reason and that there is so much more waiting for us after this life) However I do not believe in the bible.I was raised Christian baptist and found more fear internally growing up....If you do not believe in the lord and ask him into your heart you will go to hell forever??? What true Creator of man would give us human traits and then condemn us for not 100% believing in what we can not see??

I believe in God because I KNOW that He is real. He proved it to me Himself. So in that sense I have to believe just as I have to believe that the sun will come up tomorrow and the next day. I have seen the sun and so must believe/know. I am a follower of the teaching of Christ because I choose to be. Knowing that there is a God I could choose any religion, I chose to be a Christian and a High Church Episcopalian.

Religion is man made
Christianity is Christ made....
I believe in Christ not because I have to ... but because I want to and I believe the Word of God is all truth.

That's a good question. The real problem is when people cannot tell the difference.

Religion is nothing, tradition is nothing. what matters is what is in your heart about the Son of the living God, Jesus.

Some things are in-escapable.
I do not believe in organized religion .....dis-organized is more like it.
however, some things are inescapable ....God exists.
I assume He has a purpose.

It is all about choice. I believe because I choose to. I could choose to deny God. But I don't.
