Is this in reference to you wee little paddle feet? Should you not go on to the veterinarian questions?

I also have RSL (Restless Leg Syndrome) and my kittens all sleep with me, well, my kitties do...I've never had a problem with it upsetting them, so it does sometimes set Spaghetti off as thinking that I'm playing but my two adult cats Minx and Penne have gotten used to it, try to avoid caffiene before bed and make sure you're comfortable when you fall asleep and I find that that helps, also taking a magneisum supplement has cut down on the amount of attacks I have at night, as well as eating bananas throughout the day. Hope this helps, though I think the question is in the wrong section.

I found that a lot of my restless leg problems resulted from swelling in my legs...and it would compress my nerves. I cut sugar out of my diet, and sodas...then began a daily routine of walking. I use over-the-counter...Aleve to reduce swelling. The problem has almost disappeared. It would bother me most when I was really tired. When the symptoms flared up the only thing that would help directly was to massage my knees and my legs with strokes going towards my heart...to increase my circulation. I would stretch and exercise my legs a bit (about 5 minutes) and they would calm down. Medication does little to help me, and I would prefer to avoid a strong prescription unless I absolutely need it. Sleeping medications do not make the irritable feeling go away, and makes you more sleepy and dizzy. Then it is more difficult to get up and stretch to clear up the problem.
My grandmother had to have prescription medication for ILS while she was hospitalized for a broken leg. Her "healthy" leg would go crazy from the inactivity and the fact that she had to lay on her back. Lying in one position for a long time will trigger it. It is best to move around as much as you can to prevent problems. Elevating her leg helped...a little bit.
I have been told that when you get a charlie horse, you should eat more bananas...the potassium helps. Cramping in my legs cleared up too with the exercise routine I put in place. This is obviously a preventative way of helping with the problem...but, it does help a great deal. Inactivity will cause all kinds of problems...and, irritable leg syndrome is definitly one of those problems. Just be sure to make whatever exercise you do: daily, and reasonable. Over exertion will pull/strain your muscles, and that just makes you sore all over.

Do u mean that your legs ache so bad? if so, try CO-Codamol capsules, I suffer with diabetic neuropathy and have same symptoms sometimes after dialysis, it drags me down nearly to tears as the sensation more than a pain will waken me up from a deep sleep its that bad. Re the neuropathy I take 500/30 strength and take 8 a day, my consultant told me that they r not 4 neuropathy, I told him that it helps but only the stronger 30mg codine , if I use the 8mg codine I goi crazy in agony all night as it seems to hit me in bed at night. See ur gp and ask if u can get them and the higher strength codine, ur gp may start u on 8mg first. U have to give the medication at least 4 days to work u might be lucky and they help right away. Since telling my consultant, he has now let other patients have them and they are getting releif that they have never had.
Let me know how u get on if u use them.

? irritable leg syndrome. Requip is used for treatment of Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). Also check to see you are not iron deficient in your blood levels, it could be a cause of RLS.

Ask your doctor about an exercise routine. Regular exercise, such as walking three times a week, may reduce neuropathy pain, improve your muscle strength and help control blood sugar levels. Gentle routines such as yoga and tai chi might also help.

I usually stamp around for a few seconds. Make sure you are not too hot. I have tried different things, but never found one that works, but what does'nt work for one person, may work for someone else
