i see that Joseph was a direct descendant of Adam, Noah, Abraham, etc. but, due to immaculate conception, does that mean that the family line was broken and Jesus was not actually included in that bloodline? pls advise

think you first few lost sight of or misunderstand my question. there is a distinct bloodline in the Bible from Adam to Noah to Abraham to....Joseph. yes we are all descendants but can all of us claim these guys, directly, in our family tree? yes Jesus is the son of God, but he is technically outside the "bloodline" of the others...understand?

I think it depends on the school of thought. If we assume that all people, even those whose bloodlines were not chronicled (ie, the women in the bible) are descendants of Adam, then obviously yes. This depends on whether you believe God created any other people besides Adam & Eve. I, for instance, believe that although Adam & Eve were the first, after they left Eden He created more people- Adam & Eve's children had to marry someone, and when Cain runs after having killed his brother he says that he is afraid of what other people would do to him. So Mary could have been a descendant of someone else, if that is the belief.
If whether or not Mary is a descendant of Adam's is disregarded and we work solely off of whether or not Jesus is a blood relative of Joseph's, then things get a little muddier. We know that Jesus was consumated even before Mary & Joseph ever had intercourse, so I suppose that genetically speaking, no, Jesus is not a descendant of THAT bloodline. But the thing is that even though He didn't inherit any genetic material from Joseph, He is still considered to be part of that bloodline.

I think so, yes. Jesus probably was a blood descendant of Adam, but a spiritual son of God. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Everyone is a blood descendent of Adam. If you are not a blood descendent of Adam you simply do not exist.

If you follow the rest of the Christian mythology (i.e., all humans descended from Adam and Eve), then Jesus is a descendant of Adam. Although his father wasn't human, his mother was and she was born from at least a human mother, if you buy the Immaculate Conception concept, then you follow the path all the way back to Adam.
Since Jesus never really existed, the question's kinda moot, though.

If you are looking at it from a biological or scientific point of view. He was concieved by the Holy Spirit, but he was in the womb of Mary sharing her blood through her umbilical chord and she was a descendent of Adam. Spiritually, he was the son of Joseph and God.

Well, seeing as the entire human race was descended from Adam and Eve (ew, incest), Mary had to have been descended from Adam, so I guess Jesus was too.
I'm not a Christian, but I have read the bible.

Jesus was definitely in the family.
However, he didn't enter the family in the customary fashion.
There are vague similarities with an adopted child.
In the family, but not blood related.
Could even be an heir, but not blood related.

Yes, where do you think Adam got his blood? It came from God, and Jesus is the Son of God.

we all are decendants of Adam !
jesus lineage was not taken from joseph it was from mary who was a decendant of King david herself
in Jewish Halakhic tradition only a person born of a Jewish mother is automatically considered Jewish. Hence Jewish descent is passed on from the mother to the child
could this be the reason jesus was born a jew?
