if you have this get a bright light or even a low voltage tanning lamp and sit under it 10 to 20 minutes a day...

I would say that is just a bad depression cause you are living away from your friends and you don't see your friends that much, so you really get back and go outside, so you do not have, this depression. You really need to quit staying in your house all of the time. You may need to go and get some professional help with so you can go outside, and find out what is behind in your winter depression , a therapits that can help you too, get to the issues that is causing this. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD).
The special lights mimic the complete range of wave lengths of sunlight, which is something that cannot be done by most light bulbs. You also don't get the specific therapeutic range by standing or sitting in front of a window with direct light, as the glass blocks that range.

Someone finally made up a name for it - seasonal affective disorder. It's just plain depression, due to lack of the sun and/or light. People who move to Alaska find this happening a great deal. It's now called SAD.

if you only hove it in the winter they are right this seasonal a disorder you need to be in a room with the light on or talk a pill called, novo-venlafaxine. the doctor will tell you how much you need.
