leave it alone, don't wash it as often. It will make it a little oily so put loose j&j baby powder on it. You'll lose waviness and body in no time.

My hair straighteners have a little reservoir attatchment thingy which you put a few drops of this special oil which protects your hair from heat damage....I was sceptical at first but I've found it also gives a lovely "sheen" to my hair when I use it.....keep your eye out for some straighteners which have this on them.
I also agree with a previous answer....not to use straighteners TOO much, even with the protector oil, overuse would undoubtedly cause damage (2 or 3 times a week I reckon would be about the max)

I also have this problem. I have to straighten my hair as its naturally a mess! (Kinky, wavy, frizzy...)
Get some straighteners where you can adjust the temperature.
I have Visique <-- Cant spell it! They are from ARGOS and only cost £10 but that are the best straighteners and don't snag your hair. They go up to 200 degrees and have a (+) and (-) buttons to make it easy to adjust the temperature.
I also use a heat protection spray from ASDA which is called "perfect it protect it" (In a creme and pink spray bottle) Its really cheap about £2. It smells really nice and doesn't make my hair go greasy. I spray this on while my hair is wet. The more the better.
Also try washing and straightening your hair every other day and don't use a very high temperature when straightening your hair.
Hope this helps!

First get a thermal protective spray for when you srtaighten your hair, and get a thermal straightening cream or balm for when you blow dry your hair. Pointing the dryer down your hair instead of all over makes it staighter. After your whole head is dry, take the hair in sections, then spray and straighten with a iron.
To prevent damage, use shampoo specialized for your hair (mabye damaged/coloured hair) and do a oil treatment every 1-2 weeks. Don't worry, it doesn't make your hair greasy!

Im not sure what kind of hair u have so I will assume Curly.
Ok..wash your hair..and dont put any product in it..Then blow dry it. After you blow dry it, grab ur hair straightener and the section of your hair that you will flat iron. Spray on this product called Proclaim. You can find it at Sally's. It works sooo good. It protects your hair AND makes it come out even straighter. So spray it on your hair..and then flat iron your hair.
You can even use it for when you are using a curling iron and etc. Just read the back of the bottle.
Its "Proclaim Hot Thermal Styler"

Go to a salon and have it straightened there. They will do it and it will last a while. This way you do not have to spend hours a week trying to get straight hair. They will give you instructions on how to care for it, and you can use a deep conditioner. I like the sun silk deep conditioning, it makes the hair very soft. I have dyed my hair, curled and straightened...it is soft still, after using the deep conditioning.

Let your hair dry naturally first and then use a heat protection cream and a good set of straightner i.e. GHDs. Use a hair mask once or twice a week to stop the hair drying out if you're going to straighten regularly.

Straightening your hair won't damage it unless you do it too often. You could buy some products designed to protect your hair when you straighten it. My sister straightens hers all the time, and uses these kind of products. Her hair's not brittle or anything!
Hope this helps!

Use a thermal heat protector spray in your hair before you straighten. Also use a shampoo that puts moisture and protein back into your hair, which straightening can take away.

you could use a heat protector spray just before straightening... i don't recomemend treseme one it doesn't seem to work or instead of straightening blowdry the hair downwards or get someone to blowdry it how they do in the salons because it won't damage the hair like straighteners do because this way they are not bein forced inbetween 2 red hot irons!
