Its a device that emits clicking noises to a certain tempo. Its used to help people practice when they're alone. I use a metronome, whenever I play my sax so I stay with the beat of the music, so I can play it better, when I play with big group. You'll probaly find the best price on one at musiciansfriend.com or guitarcenter.com

a metronome is a device that either emits a tick or light (or the fancy ones, different sounds) that keeps the beat of whatever you are performing. you can change the tempo of the metronome from really fast to really slow to whatever in between (at certain increments).
fancy metronomes (like the dr. beat metronomes) can count the beats for you, emphasize the down beat, etc.
you can find metronomes at most stores that sell sheet music/instruments or online at music store websites, or even generic websites like amazon.com

A metronome is a device that is designed to keep steady time by emitting a certain number of Beats per minute (bpm). When a piece of music has a tempo marking above it, set your metronome to that number or range during practice.

A device used to mark time by means of regularly recurring ticks or flashes at adjustable intervals. You can go find music stores... or just type "metronome" on google... but its better if you get a combo metronome.. like tuner/metronome...

A metronome is like a clock, It ticks at a speed you set, (i.e. 40-60 is slow, or andante, 70-100, medium pace, and 100-higher is allegro, very fast) and it tells you at what speed to sing or play a song. You can get one at any music store, like Kolacny's or Music and arts.
