The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. I would look for a man who has had a stable relationship in his past and avoid those who seem to jump from one partner to another.
Be careful in your search. Don't give in to the temptation to settle for one nighters just because you are not successful right out of the gate.
You also might want to post this under "gay and lesbian" as I'm sure there will be gay men with better advice.
