Alright I am 14 years old and I am thinking about getting a tattoo. I still have a lot of growing left though too. Does that mean that if I get one now on my upper right arm that it will look bad in 10 years?

yes. for starters no reputable arist will work on a 14 yr old so you will have to wait to get soemthing nice anyway. but what can be in the centre of your arm now might be at the back down by your elbow by the time you finish growing. Your skin willstretch and move a lot in the next ten years. Think of how much youre skin has stretched and moved in the last ten for an idea as tohow it could end up!!! Spend the next few years making decisions on what you want and how you want it to look, not on how to cover up an impatient decision.

1. It's pretty unlikely that a good artist would tattoo someone who's 14 years old, regardless of whether or not it's legal.

2. There's no excuse for getting inked by anyone who is not a good artist.

3. Odds are good that the design you'd choose now is not what you'll want 10 years from now; like you said, you "have a lot of growing left" and that's not just physical.

This probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but it comes from someone who doesn't remember NOT wanting a tattoo. Got my first one just before I turned 18 (that one is now covered by a much cooler one), and I've gotten a lot more in the years since then.

where are you planning on finding someone to give you a tattoo? i'm pretty sure in every state you have to be atleast 16 with parental permission. some states you have to be 18 no matter what.
also i would be hesitant at your age to get a tattoo. when i was your age i wanted a tattoo so badly. but i waited until i was 18. and i have changed so much even since then. i have different taste in everything. music, friends, food, EVERYTHING. i know that anything i could have gotten i would not love today because i'm a different person.

as far as your growing it depends really on how much you grow between now and when you reach full size. it is possible that your tattoo could stretch out and be distorted if you had a growth spurt. i don't think i grew much after 14. maybe only an inch or two but everybody is different.

its not really the question of ''will it look bad in 10 years'' its that you are very young to get something that will be with you your whole life. your tastes in things will definately change from now till your 18 ,you gotta b decided about what you really want, and your 14 your body hasnt finished changing ,this means that you will grow , expand and so will your skin so think about it before attempting to get it done. Please be cautious about the studio you go to dont be afraid to look around and ask questions about sterilisation, and long term effects of a tattoo

Legally you can't get one anyways, even with parental permission. You still have 4 years to go before you can get it. A;sp, if you're not done growing yet, yes, there is a chance that it will stretch out...your skin grows, the tattoo doesn't. :)

18 to get a tattoo

16 with written parental permission

i totally second the first answer. a skilled, professional artist shouldnt be doing one on you at this age, even if you can "pass" for 18. yes, it will most probably stretch between now and when you finish growing. dont be in such a hurry to get one...some design ideas that i had when i was your age i would never dream of having inked on me now because i have no shame in admitting they were pathetic, something that may seem cool at the moment could make you cringe when your older!! wait until your 18 then have a good think.

My advice is don't do it! You are too young, your tastes in a tattoo will change too. Then you have to live with it the rest of your life. If you do it though, I don't think your skin stretches that it will look bad. Anyway, good luck!!

you are too young to make a life long decision like a tattoo..not that i have any problem with them, but you will most likely regret if you get one at this age, besides its not even legal for you to get one without parental consent at your age, and even then , a good tattoo artist wouldnt do one for you because of your age regardless.
