I respect and can accept that you don't believe in God and everything else that relates to christianity but my question is if you are serious about wanting to know about God,Jesus and the Bible then why do you insist and persist on disrespecting it (christianity) with sarcastic and rude type questions?,is it really necessary?
I know that there are many different beliefs and disbeliefs about God and I'm cool with that because I do live by my motto "Let man believe what he wants to and let God be the judge over who is right and who is wrong."
It is true that everyone here has a right to their opinion which is why I will never report any of you no matter how disrepectful you are to my beliefs.
I don't mind any of you asking questions about God,Jesus, the Bible and Heaven but if you want a serious answer then I and others would appriciate it if you ask your question respectfully.
I'm not suggesting for you to respect christians I'm asking to respect our beliefs.

Some of you has gotten the ideal that I want respect for myself personally.
That is not what I'm asking but since we are on the subject of who deserves respect then I would have to say that it is God who deserves your respect and unconditionally because, think of it,if it wasn't for God you wouldn't have a mommy or a daddy to bring you into this world and if it wasn't for God you wouldn't have woken up this morning to breathe the air that you, just like me,takes for granted each and every day.

If you want my respect then earn it. Do not post 'questions' claiming the earth is 6,000 years old, that humans walked with dinosaurs, that evolution is 'only a theory', that the 'Rapture' is imminent or that all non-christians are going to hell.
Deal?

There will never be anyone who challenges your beliefs like someone who once held them. I don't post here to find out about God, Jesus, and the Bible - I probably know more about all three than you do because a) I was indoctrinated into Christianity young and thoroughly; and b) I read and study EVERYTHING.
The kind of apologetics in which you are engaging is typical of someone who believes, like many do, that there is an extra-thick layer around religious people, a layer of "respect", that everyone else must take care to observe. Well, it just ain't so.
I don't need your permission to ask any question, about anything, nor do I have to word it in a way that does not offend your delicate sensibilities. As I have said many times, Christianity has done nothing to earn my respect, and that is why I do not show it any.
I don't respect your beliefs. I find them absurd and dangerous. I find your religion extremely distasteful, and most of its followers insufferably condescending and arrogant. What they think of me does not matter to me. What matters to me is that once in a while, one of them stops posting for a few days and returns an agnostic, or a secular humanist, or an atheist. Like I did.

You are very right. It's very disrespectful for people to become sarcastic, angry, or begrudging when confronted on their own beliefs. It is irritating when I am trying to have a real conversation, however philosophical or religious it is. I whole-heartedly agree with your opinion.
However... I'm a Pluralist. I believe in many paths and many religions. Good and evil. I believe in the whole. When I confront people of different religions or faiths I get the same reactions. The worst thing is, usually they are the one that brings up the conversations to begin with, asking questions like "do you believe that Jesus is the one true god?" or something like that. It makes people angry when I give them the "yes/no" answers that often leave me mouth.
I feel the anger you are getting from others relates to their own instability. When you confront someone on beliefs they are not strong in, or may feel that they are not on the correct path, they are in denial, and become angry. Anger is a very primal instinct when confronted this way.

I respect your belief. Then when some Christians say that there's proof that God exists but don't put that proof out in front of me, I get annoyed. So I put proof that God may not have existed. By the way, I do not count the Bible as proof, give me some other real proof, since the Bible could have been written by any random other person. Not meaning to say that it was, but I'm just saying it COULD have been.
And then there's the point that when some Christians say that all non-believers are going to hell, it's annoying. So I say I'm glad to go to hell, I'll bring my katana along and kill Satan then rule Hell for all time.

Very good question. I've always wondered the same thing myself. I believe that those who are so disrespectful would be just as disrespectful in other situations. As you can tell by the answer above me, they want you to respect THEIR beliefs while they in return show you nothing but contempt. It's a rather juvenile mindset.
Of course, you have a totally different mindset from some. I enjoy reasoned debates with them. They tend to provide more answers, though, than questions on these boards. I think it's because they don't "set out" to try to cause conflict.

Respect is not something just given but it is earned. I would suggest you getting rid of the confederate flag in your profile, it doesn't go along with any type of tolerance or respect. That might go a long was to show people you are truly sincere. For me, and for many others, that flag brings up images of all white southern baptists who are truly only happy at a public hanging of a colored person.

From what I witness, non-believers know more about God, Jesus and the Bible than believers do. This is because they question and analyze through reading the Bible and going to church, along with doing their own research. Most non-believers have been doing this since they were 12. They're pretty well educated on the subject, much to your dismay.
I think most Christians, like yourself, are overly sensitive when someone questions your faith. When someone debates your belief you take offense to it no matter how diplomatic it's stated. Then you claim non-believers to be disrespectful and rude ... even down right hateful. What's with this?

because presuppositions like this. For most of the world God is not Christ (read that twice). It's arrogant to think you're belief is true when in fact you are in the minority.
I'm surprised you do not capitalize 'Christian'. Belief that Christ is God demands such respect.
The fundamental flaw in most religions (particularly western religions) is that they assume to have the inside lane on truth. Christ said 'I am the way, the truth and the life'. But there are many ways, truths and lives.

A non believer does not always equal an atheist, heres my take on Pascals wager, if your Jehovah and Jesus turn out to be false Gods, then you have Thor, Isis, Diana, Tyr and a whole army of Pagan Gods and Goddesses to answer to.
God wanted me to be Pagan who are you to question Gods wisdom?

People who post rude questions like that aren't serious at all. They are just seeking to rile people up on both sides of the spiritual spectrum. If they were truly seeking information, they would be respectful, as you suggest. Ignore them and move on.
Just don't let the non-believers who post such things make you think that all of us are that way.

I do agree some of the non-Christian questions can be a little crude, but a lot of them are very legitimate, so I don't think you can lump them all into one category.
It would be like me lumping all Christian questions under the "blatant proselytization" or "pathetic Evolution-debunking attempt" banners. Yes, there are Christians that do both, but not all the questions Christians ask fall into these categories.
