Generally IQ is relative to the "average" person. An "average" IQ would be an IQ of about 100. This means that you are 1.48 times more intelligent than an "average" person.

However this doesn't mean you are not more intelligent than what the IQ test tells you. The tests usually do not take various factors of intelligence into account like creativity and art based intelligence. So, if you thought you should be higher, don't sweat it because you probably are. :-)

Usually it means a genius level IQ.

But in your case, having to ask what this means, it probably means that you read the IQ test results wrong and you probably got a 14.8 instead of a 148. This would show why you are asking this question. Because you have the IQ of a slug. Sorry homes!

It simply means that your score on a standardized intelligence quotient test (whichever version you took) is 148.

IF, however, you adhere to standardized testing and give credence to their "outcome," then you are 3+ standard deviations from the "norm" on a bell curve for standardized "intelligence quotient." The "norm" being 100, with one standard deviation being 15 points either way. So, "normal intelligence" would be 100 points on an IQ test, "gifted" = 130 ... Depends on where you look, you'll get different "categories" for scores.

IMHO, it just means you scored 148 on that test on that day. Great Job!

Have a great week!

The normal IQ is around 100. A genius is considered to have an IQ of 150 and up. I also included some Multiple intelligence test to measure other things if you want to try.

"I.Q" stands for "Intelligence Quotient". The higher the number the better. Your 148 means you scored well in most subjects that you were tested on in order to come up with the score to begin with. However, someone with a 148 score is not necessarily smarter than a 120... the lower score might be someone with a better knowledge of creative subject matter, and/or with a higher level of "street smarts". Sooooooo -- maybe you're a brainiac, and maybe not. :)

It means you can brag about having a 148 IQ. I think you are just fishing to hear people say you are smart so your ego can get stroked.

120 is average, so 148 would be quite a bit above. Don't rely on IQ tests too much - my suggestion is to take several tests and average them out. 156 on Sparknotes is 'genius'.... :)

It depends entirely on how you use it. How well do you relate to others and how are you applying this intellect? You asking the question is interesting. The world would be totally different without those in the genus bracket, but many mentally gifted people find themselves in menial positions. Some indeed invoke laughter.

On a standardized intelligence quotient test you performed very well. This means very little when it comes down to real life intelligence. You may have a higher capacity for learning than the majority of people. Or you may be a good test taker!

Your IQ adds up to 13...which is an unlucky number. Success requires brains and luck.
