i studied martial arts for a long long time, and i remember something very similar happening when i first started. you MAY have pulled something, or strained something, but i'm guessing you just plain overdid what your body is used to bouncing back from. depending on how much you overdid it, i'd give yourself a week to feel better. take it easy, and only do stretches for the next few days. little by little as you feel better, do a little more excercise at a time to ease back into it. try and take slow controlled breaths, inhale deeply through your nose and hold it in, then exhale slowly through your mouth. after maybe 10 minutes of this, it should feel easier to breathe again.

good luck, and go easy on yourself. karate is one of those things thats hard to do when you start, and 3 times harder the day after, but in time it will be second nature, and you'll find it gets easier to handle. just keep with it!

Stretch gently and slowly, especially where it hurts (work into the stretch), and from this point on, make sure you stretch after every workout. It's okay to feel a little bit sore the day after working out. It's a good indication that you challenged your muscles and they are growing/reshaping themselves. Something else you can try right now to relieve the pain, if you're brave, is a cool bath.

Being sore is one of the after effects of a very good workout the day after. You may have pulled a muscle, but chances are your body is just depleted so I would just relax.

You over worked your muscles. Keep moving them, also try soaking in a warm bath. Put some icy-hot on them. The doctor would give you a muscle relaxer.

The best way to avoid such pains after a hard physical practice, next time just have your whole body massaged (if you can of course)and have a hot bath.It works wonders.
Get well soon.

See a doctor. You should also lay off the karate for a few weeks and give yourself a rest.

Sounds like you pulled a muscle or have a sprain.
You need to see a doctor.
