Can men and women really get along?

Question

Lets be honest...if the opposite sexx was so great....there wouldnt be as much divorce , now would there?
Why do u think little boys and little girls dont play together...they hate each other! It is only AFTER hormones kick in that they want to get together.

Yes men and women can get along splendidly for a lifetime if both sides are willing to work through their problems. The issue here is not the opposite sex, it's ourselves. We have been trained in recent years that problems = split up. That is not the intent of marriage. Why do we say wedding vows? Til death do us part. In sickness and health. In good times and bad. The point of a marriage is to build a relationship and then work to keep it together. There is so much wonderful blessing that comes from a couple that is willing to stick it out and work through to conclusion any problem that arises. I've seen it done.

The problem is we have a whole mess of lazy people that would rather give up and settle for less than desirable relationships than work for something good.

Well, there are different persectives to look at the issue. Gender traits are in born. You can't just wash your hands clean off them. Moreover our upbringing does play a pivotal role in how we interact with the opposite sex. Look around you will see many happy couples as well. When you toss a coin, the probabilities of heads and tails are but probabilities. No one can foretell.
Anyone who claims that men and women are worlds apart, is being too cynical. It's not just about the kick of hormones. Don't/Won't you like being in your lover's arms for the sake of being there and not rattling up the sheets? Doesn't/wouldn't the clasp of your hand give you a warmth and a rush of platonic emotions?

It seems you have had a rough phase. There's a famous quote "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle" by Irina Dunn. Well, I would rather be a bicycle for the fish, rather than being a self-obsessed arrogant specimen of a gender-centric ego.

My wife and I have been with each other for 31 years.29 of it as husband and wife,if that means anything.As long as you both talk and decide together,you have a chance to get along.Do not take sides in family fights,no matter if its the in laws or family.Put the pay checks together,pay all bills first and DO NOT SPEND WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE.
We had problems until we figured out the right way to live.Another thing both of you have to help with yard and house work.

They can, as long as they don't let love get in the way. That just turns everything into a bloody mess. If men and women woke up and realized that we're only necessary to each other for breeding and sex, the world would be a happier place.

hahaha - i think that they really can get along. but divorce happens because people are so eager for that fairytale relationship that they dont wait to make sure it is real!!
