I do not know where they are located but maybe where it is,a cat or dog is near them, sounds if something strange is lurking near,if not, they maybe the feed has been changed or maybe lice are on them, check them out for lice, also they could be just fixing to mate or getting ready to mate, but I would go for the above answer.I used to raise birds.

It's a known fact that dinosaurs eveolved from birds. Now, take T. rex. Breaking theory suggests it hunted in groups. To do that, it may have vocalised. Perhaps a squawk is not a sign of madness but of sheer-terrifying intelligence? Again, turning to the prehistoric world for answers, you could try keeping your parakeets behind 10,000 volt fences like the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park. It would curtail the noise pretty quickly, if nothing else.

well I have 3 parakeets. And they squak and everything all the time! But they are usually just playing. But I have also had mine for about 3-4 years. MAKE SURE THAT THEY ARENT AROUND CATS! I used to have 4 parakeets but 1 died of a heart attack because a cat jumped at the cage and scared it! if there are other pets around the house, be sure that they arent AFRAID of them. That could be the problem.

I used to have parakeets but they just recently died of old age. I remember they used to make those loud squawking noises but it's just how they are. They aren't really mad, they're just trying to communicate.

They could be bored or they could want attention. They make more of an angry dolphin noise when they're aggravated.

http://www.budgietalk.com has a page with budgie sounds and budgie behaviours, you could check that out, since I'm not sure which sound yours are making.

birds actually talk to each other; all birds make noises. Keep toys in their cage so they aren't bored.

we used to have a parakeet who would "scold" our cat when she got too close to the christmas tree- because we had scolded the cat for that same thing... the bird imitated us- maybe yours are doing the same thing?
