In the morning I will weigh a certain amount of weight, then I i eat a big meal, i weigh myself at night, and all of a sudden I am 5 pounds heavier. I go to the gym everyday, and eventually I go back to my normal weight, but then if i eat a big meal again, I gain the 5 punds again? My friends say this is not normal.

Do not EVER weigh yourself after you've ate. You have a whole bunch of undigested food in your belly.

It is very normal. That is water weight, which fluctuates throughout the day. Nothing to worry about. Try NOT weighing yourself several times a day or even every day. Instead, focus on how your clothes fit you. Muscle weighs more than fat and the numbers on the scale can be discouraging if you're trying to get fit.

It isn't normal.

Either your scale is incorrect or you should see a specialist.
