Our Miniature Schnazers do the same thing. They are both adult (8 and 10 years old) and both a little overweight. That is what the vet says is probably causing it.... being overweight. Our boy, Dickens, snores when he sleeps on his back.

I still think you should go outside to smoke and if nothing else, it might help you to cut back on the cancer sticks... Worth a try anyway. I don't believe the air purifiers still get everything out of the air, or else the Doctors would tell parents, go ahead and smoke with your kids in the room, just use a purifier!

Obviously she is allergic to the smoke. Running an air purifier does nothing. I'm asthmatic myself, and people seem to think it will be OK if they just don't smoke in front of me. I can assure you that it isn't! The smoke goes through everything in your house and you carry it with you everywhere you go.

The solution is obvious.

If you think running air purifiers will eliminate smoke from your home, you are sadly mistaken. Right now you're inflicting as much toxins into your dog's lungs as you are into your own. Smoke outside- far away from the dog. Oh, and try to quit. Please do, not just for your dog but for the planet.

Seriously, stop smoking around the dog. I'm a groomer, and I can always tell when a dog is owned by a heavy smoker because the dog REEKS of cigarettes. I used to do a bichon that would actually turn yellow from the cigarette fumes in the house. That is NOT good for the dog's health. You wouldn't do this to your children (I hope), please don't do it to your dog.

Alot of small dogs have this problem, I think it is where their nostrils are so tiny. Be careful about the smoking animals can be harmed from second hand smoke as well, they take it in through their pores and it can cause cancer.

my lab has kind of the same problem-- he snores really loudly-- but if it sounds like a wheezing cough it may be kennel cough so make sure it isnt. also, my lab has developed some sort of discoid lupis from having parvo so beee careful.
