Please check the computer that it can handle XP, and if possible, make sure there is minimun 256MB RAM, 512 or more is highly recommended.
You will also need an upgrade version at least of XP.
Set your computer to boot from CD in the BIOS, insert the CD and follow the prompts carefully. It will prompt you to wipe out the HD eventually. Just take your time through it.
Do not wipe the old Windows off, let the XP install do that for you, because if you do format the drive first, you will then need an old Windows CD to upgrade. Unless you have the full XP, then you're OK.
Also, get information about the computer, and download drivers for the machine. Go to the MB website, and get the latest drivers, BIOS, printer, video drivers, audio drivers and Chipset drivers. I usually do that on a second machine as the first is installing.

Check device manager after for yellow ? and then resolve those with drivers.

Good luck, feel free to email meif you've got more questions.

If you want to start afresh, get a windows XP bootable CD and start your computer using this. When the CD runs it asks for the location to store windows, at this place you can format your hard disk (which removes your previous windows) and install new windows.
