Hey, maybe I can help you some..
Honestly I remember learning in school, it depends on how much you have been taking and for how long...
In rare cases, when people have been taking High Doses on a daily basis, they do get very sick...
The best way to do it..Is to slowly wean yourself off of these..Say you are taking, for an example, 8 per day...ok...for 2 days take 5 a day...next 2 take 4 1/2...Next take 3 for 2 days..and so on...until you are down to half of a pill a day...Cut your doses..Like if you take 2 in the morning, take 1 1/2..you have to do it over a weeks period or so...and cut down slowly...and your body can adjust. I know this must be very scary...But dont be afraid...You can do it!!! All this, may not be the right way, but it is what I learned in nursing school..Im not a doctor or anything, but I sure remember doing a study on this in school, But all doctors are different, some may say different, some agree with this..
While you are doing this, consider this as slowly detoxing yourself...drink Lots of water, take vitamins..if you can take walks, this helps you sweat and get stuff out of your system..People that slowly wean themselves off, have an easier time then just quitting cold turkey..Its all up to you though, On how you want to do it..
After trying this, if it doesnt work...Please Seek Medical Attention, go and talk to your doctor about it, he may can give you something..
Withdrawels Im sure you will experience them..it will be flu like symtoms...
You can do this!!!

Are you getting these pills from the Doctor?
Or have you been getting them outside of the office? If the Dr. wants you to come off of them
there are drugs to help you do this. Otherwise you are gonna be very sick. You just have no idea what it can do to your body. I have been
taking Codeine for years for my Arthritis. I know I am addicted, but it takes away the pain
that I cannot handle. You have a choice. To be in pain or be addicted. Sound like a simple choice to me. Good luck with your decision.

Anyone taking Codiene for any extended time period will get
addicted to it....I have been there several times...
Not a big deal to quit it cold turkey...
Feels like a case of the flu and lasts about as long...

I have a degenerative bone disorder which lead me to take codeine for five years....I am now drug free and have been for 2 years. I just decided to stop one day....not that im suggesting you should do this but thats what I did, and if im honest I had very bad with-drawals...made me feel like I was giving up a crack habit or something. I was twitchy, hot, panicky and needed so bad to take the pills, made me sweat too. But I just used my will power. Im sure your GP will set out a withdrawal plan for you, mine did I just didnt follow it. Goodluck, you can do it..i did and my willpower is pants x

Been there done that. You can to it be carful about cold turkey
The body will can react to it. A slow process usely works best
but can sometime be the hardest. I went into treatment couldn't
do it alone. I still crave it this could last for along time. Understanding your addiction inside and out helps. and remember like most people you didn't get there in one day. so don't expect this to be pleasant.. I can still see a loritab & start sweating. thanks my best shot.

Lots of people are addicted to Codeine, you are not alone. Tell your doctor and he will help you to get off of them, possibly with a different pain medication.

before everything, you have widely used you have a concern so as that's hurdle selection one executed.. nicely executed! the subsequent element i think of may well be to confirm your gp with the aid of fact they are able to refer you to drugs councellors etc and help devise a plan to help you. they are not going to tell you to flow chilly turkey while you're on intense doses on a daily basis with the aid of fact opiate habit is notoriously complicated to beat and it is going to take you a protracted time to crack it. additionally, divulge on your associates- theres no shame in it and you will prefer all of the assist you may get. in line with danger getting out including your associates extra would desire to help the cravings a sprint incredibly than staying in and staring at that container! For now, in line with danger try reducing your dose by utilising basically a sprint on a daily basis or try going a sprint longer on a daily basis in between taking them. Weaning slowly will decrease the withdrawal indicators yet no longer stop them thoroughly yet ultimately you will no longer be able to try this on my own. call your gp on monday. sturdy success

Get in touch with a psychiatrist, one that specializes in addictionology would be best. He can best assess your situation and determine if it can be done on an outpatient basis or if a short hospital admission is needed.
