How is the points system in golf kept?

Is it the computer or a manual system that is used.
Do they have some softwares that can help me learn the game and also help me understand it .

double eagle = -3
eagle = -2
birdie = -1
par = 0
bogey = +1
double bogey = +2
triple bogey -+3
a hole in one on a par 3 = ace
lowest score possible 58 (par72) course
