Quite interesting and common malady. It reminds me of my school days when I used to behave the same way-religiously setting alarm for 05.30 hrs on each night, turning, it off and keep sleeping, jumping off the bed just to get ready and run for school. Then I bought a "Repeat Alarm Clock" but the only change was just counting seven times alarm rang and keep sleeping for extended hours.
My mother suggested me to recite Gaytri Mantra for 20 times before sleeping and make a wish to get up at 05.30 hrs. surprisingly it worked and Exactly used to get up at right time without even alarm. so before sleeping whatever time we think of getting up, biological clock sets itself accordingly. Nearly 8 hrs sleep 8 hrs rest and 8hrs work is very much essential for every human being for to have a normal living.If the sleeping time consumption is less the early you can not awake.If you go to bed at 12 O'Clock and want towake up at 5 o" clock in the morning , then try to Thick sleep e.i an undisturbed sleep for the 5 Hrs.If this also not possible my simple idea is not to go for sleep for ever.

Well...clearly the problem is sleeping during the day. Try and avoid it because when you sleep at day you will be able to stay up longer than when you sleep at night. I don't know why, maybe its more enjoyable to sleep at night or something but trust me on this one(speaking from experience)
