We have an 100+ yr old barn that we are thinking of selling the wood from it and having a company or individual come and buy for the wood and take down. Any suggestions on where to advertise this sort of product? I know the beams are in excellent shape and people do want those for homes etc. but have no clue where to advertise such.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Located in Ohio
Size is probably at least about 100 ft long X 50 ft wide. Huge hand hewn solid beams, fitted together with peg and groove, no bolts, lags, etc. (some still have a little bark on them), will have to go measure some of them. (there are some that would have to be 25 ft and more) Old red wood siding as well.

Wow, wish I lived in Ohio!
This wood is the absolute latest craze for furniture builders. I would suggest getting in touch with several different small furniture companies that are dealing with country furniture. The people that are going to want to buy this are likely going to either be furniture 'artist's', or a company that buys and sells (acting as a distributor of sorts). There is a small store here called ' shockeyfolkart.com/ '. This would be a good place to maybe email and get info on buyers.
Good luck!

You gotta think about this: Will the wood survive being used twice at the age of 100? Will the wood survive having all the nails/screws taken out? Do you have the time to take out all the nails/screws? If it does, will you label each piece as to where on the barn it goes? Or just use as you need? Also, I'd say a large uhaul might be able to haul all the wood for you. Best of luck.

Calfornia home builders like to use this wood on family room walls.

I would put it under "antiques" in the newspaper classifieds. Also see if you can advertise it through any of your local antique shops.
