I always thought using hydrogen peroxide was what to do, until a while back, I had a pretty severe cut on myself, and when I went to the Doctor's office I was told that using hydogen peroxide kills off some of the blood cells ( I don't remember if it was the red or white) and was not recommended. I was stunned to say the least. The Dr, told me that peroxide killed the benefitial cells that helped in the healing of the wound. I would suggets you check with your own physician and follow his/her advice.
