If not, what is the best way to grill them and for how long?

Negative, just put them away from the main heat source if that is charcoal put the potatos to the side of your grill where there is no charcoal and close the lid. If gas use the same method by putting them over a burner that is off or up high on a rack. About 400 degrees is a good temperature if you have a thermometer you can adjust this by either raising or lowering the gas or by adjusting the airflow to a charcoal grill. More air=more heat

I would say yes to keep them from drying out. I would add a little oil or butter and wrap them up before grilling.

Please don't. Baked potatoes stored in aluminum foil at room temperature could cause life-threatening botulism in those who consume them. There was a large outbreak of botulism in the US in 1994. The source of the dangerous bacteria-produced toxin was traced to baked potatoes served at a restaurant in Texas. Thirty people became ill, and four required mechanical ventilation.

I don't. I just grill 'en til their done. How long depends on the heat.
