i have a friend who's a pothead, but tries to keep appearances clean. She had a job interwiev and was not accepted because her vocabulary denoted she used illegal substances! Could this be true?

Your vocabulary can give away what you want it too!
Meaning , that you are in control of what you say when and where!
If your out with your friends firing up a hooter and your dialouge consist of "man im hungary", or "dude"then that fits the situation,But if your on an job interview then you need to be at your best,good vocabulary ,good appearance..ect....
Besides most employers now days subject you to an pre employment drug screen,which im sure she may not have passed!

absolutely i dont know if vocab alone can narrow it down to a particular substance accurately and consistently-the way someone carries themselves and the way they speak does give away a lot of information about them-it seemed to work huh?
its pretty easy to figure out if someones an idiot or not by the way they talk and the words they use

It's possible that she uses slang without even knowing it. And it's also possible she has physical signs of smoking dope. An employer can give that he vocab gave her away; perhaps she was looking for someone who was in a certain stereotype. And she also may have taken any slang or such to stereotype your friend.

illegal substances? oh is there such thing?! but i think vocabulary matters alot for great companies coz its the communication world nowadays!
