Go to the sights mentioned in the above posts, but a non-medical explaination is that the psyche divides up into 'sections' or personalities; different aspects of one's own personality that become different people instead to someone who's life was too traumatic to handle outright.

Multiple Personality Disorder is when there are two or more personalities in one person. In some cases there are even 50 or 100 personalities found. They act completely differently to one another.
This is a serious illness and needs treatment.

Multiple personality disorder is when you have 2 or more personalities;like you can be one person one minute and another person in just an instant,I believe George
Busch suffers from this disorder.
