If i go on a date with a guy, and i don't want to go out with him afterwards, how do i tell him that. I've already told him i that i just want to be friends. I will be hanging out with him today.. which i think in his head is a date, but i told him it's not.. so i dunno what to do.

i feel that still you are dating the guy if you dont want to date the guy why you still follow that guy you just simply tell him that we are not match each other ,if you start to be friendly then things will end up in dating finally

Since you have already established the fact that you want to just be friends with this guy then if he knews you are serious then it won't be about if he really thinks it is a date. You have already told him. Won't hurt to ask him if he understood where you were coming from.

If he doesn't want to be "just friends", then you can't be "just friends". You both need to be on the same page for that to work, so it might be best if you don't hang with him for a while....or maybe ever. Continuing to see him when he's of that mind set is actually a bit unfair to him, as he'll see it as a "chance" to change your mind. Do the right thing for him.....not for you.

Tell him you had fun but you're still kind of involved with an ex and not ready to get into any kind of recurring relationship with a new guy.

Just tell him, you don't want to go out with him. You aren't ready to be in a relationship with him. It might hurt him but its the truth.

Stop going out with him if u want him to stop thinking that ya are dating then u need to stop going with him and need to talk to him as little as possible.
