Hopefully you have a bottle of hydrogen peroxide in the house.
Peroxide acts on dogs like syrup of ipecak (sp) they give to people to make them vomit. A small amount will do the trick. If you do this make sure you keep an eye on the dog to make sure that she doesn't try to eat her vomit. (Sounds gross, but dogs do it)
If she does throw up make sure you follow with lots of clean water. Hopefully she'll feel better soon.
Keep a close eye on her. If her condition worsens you're going to have to take her to a vet. Your vet should have an emergency number you can call for help.
Lastly if the pup has gotten the gum and the foil into her intestinal tract you now have an emergency on your hands. This is LIFE or DEATH!! Intestinal blockage (a puppy's small intestine is about the diameter of your pinky finger) leads to peritonitis. This in almost all cases will require surgery to remove a part of the small intestine that will have died. The prognosis for this procedure is 50-50 at BEST if it's caught very early.
I wish you both well. Take care, God bless

You need to get your puppy to a veterinarian, especially if the gum she ate contains Xylitol. She has probably been having seizures and if so needs supportive care and medication to keep her from seizuring. Xylitol has also been linked to liver failure and she will need lots of IV fluids to help save her liver from too much damage. You cannot do anything for her at home, she needs emergency care. Look in the phone book to find an ER. Good Luck.
If you don't have money, try applying for something called Care Credit. You apply for it just like a credit card online and can use it to pay the ER. Their website is www.carecredit.com.

if you love your pet then money or not you must get it to the vet. owning a pet is having the responsibility of affording for it shelter, food and medical needs. and people should think about those three things before getting a pet. then comes the love and training. so call the vet at least for the puppy's own good.

The Xylitol in chewing gum is toxic to dogs. This can cause weakness, lethargy, loss of coordination, collapse and seizures. She needs to see a vet asap, especially if she's having trouble breathing.

Breathing problems are always ASAP problems. PLEASE don't be waiting, still, for answers to that question, PLEASE be on your way to a vet. If you ARE still at home on the 'Net, sign off and get to the vet - - they'll let you pay on installments in this kind of situation, trust me, I've been there. This kind of expense is just part of being a "dog mom/dad", expect more of 'em. If it's gonna be a hardship to you, get the vet to help you find the pup another home.

Call the emergency clinic and tell them your situation, maybe they will work with you on a payment plan so you can get your puppy treated.
