We have found out through searches that the name originated in Co Tyrone, Ireland, but we cannot find a tartan to represent the name, or a clan that it is associated to.

No luck on an internet direct search, you should probably try the GENFORUM where you can ask people that are researching this name, have this name, and may have already posted similar answers.

If it originated in Ireland I doubt that it would be associated with a tartan. It may be a corruption of McEwan as with the Scottish version of the name.
