Well there's about 80 pounds of butter in them! There's butter brushed between each layer of the pastry which is also made with butter.

But they're still sooooo good!

They are made with many layers of fats (usually in the form of butter) thus gave them the "layered" pattern. Food usually tastes good with some amount of fats.

Don't worry though. It's okay to eat enjoy it once in a while but remember to eat in moderation! Perhaps there are healthier version of croissants out in the market.

A croissant is just healthy... why do u think we all soooo beautiful, us French? because we eat croissants and drink wine, and eat baguette... only healthey tasty not fatty food... :D just bite in it and feel at a caffé at the top of Montmartre, a morning summer, sitting in the sun... watching a crowd of painters, looking at the view and coloring it... a travel for senses...

They are made with butter. Butter is not bad for you unless you eat lots of it. One croissant every now and then is okay.

The question is, HOW HEALTHY ARE YOU TO EAT IT?

If you're FAT quit it! If you're malnourished, eat! If you're just right... hm... 2 huge croisssants with cream cheese hm... balance it off by eating a bit less in your next meal.
