Baby Aspirin For Small Dogs

2016-11-04 11:56:50 · answer #2 · answered by Erika 4 · 0 0

It depends on how much the dog ate and how big the dog is. If a 5 lb dogs eats an entire bottle of baby aspirin, then yes, it will harm the dog. Baby aspirin is okay for dogs if given in the correct dosage, but, just like in humans, it thins the blood. So an overdose could possibly be fatal. If your dog ate just ONE, then she should be just fine! Contact your vet and see what he/she recommends doing...ie inducing vomiting with peroxide.

I researched this before for my dog. A small dog can actually benefit from a baby aspirin for pain.

Of course weight and dosage have to be evaluated. An 11 lb dog can take one, or less.

No, he will be fine. Well, actually there are many over the counter medicines a dog can take! I would not recommend doing this without talking to your vet but I use benadryl when my dog is itching and there are other things you can do. Your puppy will be fine. Take Care.

No. Your little dog will be fine...assuming when you said "a", you meant one. Even cats can have a baby aspirin to help with flu-like symptoms, or minor aches.

How old is he, and what is his weight?

A baby ASA is only 81mg. And if he is at least 15 pounds or so, I wouldnt worry. ASA is safe, but dosing is important.
