They don't have to, but they do, because they don't have to pay for the work. It would be like an expert auto mechanic who drove a car that runs like crap. It's highly unlikely.
There are no "regulations" on dentists to have good teeth, but it would be dumb for them not to have great teeth, it's their best advertising. Like a skinny chef. It wouldn't work for them to have bad teeth and then expect people to come to their dental office.

I agree it could be a competent theory to talk to a dentist. To sum up the academic standards you may want to get a BS or BA degree in college. this might take 4-5 years. you will ought to have sturdy grades extraordinarily in technology classes. Admission to dental college is extremely aggressive and a pair of million out of 25 applicants would be frequently happening. Dental college is 4 years and in case you want to be a professional you may circulate yet another 2-3 years. So there is quite some education. sturdy success to you.

haha thats a good question!
Well its easier for us to have better teeth as the practice I work in there's me and another dentist..we look after each others teeth..and obviously we dont charge each other, as although we rent the same building our practices are separate..
Also we are obviously more aware of teeth and their care, and it wouldn't be a good advertisment if a dentist had terrible teeth.
This isnt to mean dentists have naturally good teeth and dont get abscesses and so on..we do!

good quest... why dentists say you have to do this and that... floss your teeth use this one when they themselves can't even do it and their teeth have gum problems? too bad!
>but i think there is no requirements for that because when they go to dental scholls the school will not examine their teeth and just let them finish schooling anyways... sometimes dentist took up dentistry because that's what their parents like them to be or maybe because they want to improve their oral health...
>maybe it's simply how well you do your job as a dentist... because i've seen dentists that have problems too but they still have many patients because they know their professions well... we can't blame them let's just consider them as HUMAN beings who at times do wrong to...

It wouldn't be very professional for a dentist to work on your mouth if they had a bad one themselves. .Dentists do give to each other Professional Courtesy treatment.. Heck my cousin has a neighbor who is a dentist and does all their work free.

I'm a dentist.
First and foremost, the assertion that a dentist who doesn't take care of his mouth is somehow less qualified to take care of yours is preposterous.
Practicing dentistry has absolutely nothing to do with one's oral hygiene habits.
Next dumb question?

There is none, but as you wrote, if your work is improving dentition, you should start with your own. But I know a very good endocrinologist that is obese, and advices his patients to loose weight and they follow instructions.
