I had braces and never got black teeth from it, although when i was younger i walked into a tree and knocked a front tooth and it turned black. Ended up being taken out by dentist.
Maybe the braces are too tight and have caused trauma to the tooth, unless your daughter has banged it on something.

well when my son had a grey/black tooth it was because the nerve had died and he had to have his tooth removed , which wasn't good as it was his adult tooth and the front one as well , he is on the waiting list to have a new tooth fitted, u need to make an appointment to see her dentist , it may be something completely different i am just going by my own experience ,..... good luck !

A black frequently indicates a dead nerve or decay on the interior of the tooth. Of course, her dentist is really the only one that can give you a definite answer. Take her to see him ASAP.
