styinfg off your treadmill for daswillnot make ou lose your fitness. It takes around 2 weeks of you being bed bound and doing no activity for your ditness to decline and your body to atrophy. Infact if you work out on your tredmil every day your body would love a break fo 3 days and will feel great. Vary your training even if it means running outside on diferent terrain

If over 50 I would say you will definitely notice the gap. A lotdepends on age and general level of fitness. A young generally fit person can skip several days...the older you get the harder it is and the quicker you lose it.
I read an interview with a ballet dancer who had retired from actual dancing and gone into teaching. She said she had decided to do it because when she was 20 she could take a two week vacation and be back on top form in 3 days...but she had reached a point where if she left off dancing for 3 days it would take her 2 weeks to get it back.
Good luck and stick with it!

It takes two weeks to lose your fitness and 10 weeks to gain it back.

That is what I always remember as a league badminton player.

It is ok to break your exercise up during the week. You should never train daily, I feel, as it can make you addictied and also it doesn't allow your muscles/body to heal and restock reserves in muscle nutrients (glycogen).

If you stay off exercise for a longer period muscular atrophy kicks in. Meaning that the size, tone and effectiveness of the muscle reduces.

Skipping the treadmill for few days will not cause you to become unfit. The main thing is to remember to get back on the treadmill and any other program you are doing. Also, in my opinion, one key to staying fit and youthful is resistance training.
