The first one is the Major Jihad.
The problem is that some people just go for the easiest thing, not knowing that they are not only affecting themselves, but the whole of people.
It's very hard for a person to look deep into him/herself and try to change, but it's obveously very easy for one to loose temper in a snap of a finger.
Jihad is self struggle, If each person fixes his/her flaws, the whole society will be in peace.... that's the true Jihad.
Peace.

two of them are definition of Jihad in Islam. but the 2nd one is one part of it from the real Jihad which is the struggle of ownself to do good. however you cannot fight those people:
-except those which there is a treaty of peace. 4:90
-except those who's their breasts restraining from fighting you, as well fighting their own people. Quran 4:90
- if they withdraw from you and offer you peace, then can't fight them. 4:90
and:
[8] Allâh does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allâh loves those who deal with equity.
Quran 60:8

The 1st answer is the best but the 2nd would likely to be the small part of it, Jihad.

The word "Jihaad " means "Struggle", or to be specific, striving in the cause of God. Any struggle done in day-to-day life to please God is considered Jihaad. One of the highest levels of Jihaad is to stand up to a tyrant and speak a word of truth. Control of the self from wrong doings is the greatest Jihaad. One of the forms of Jihaad is to take arms in defense of Islaam or a Muslim country when Islaam is attacked. This kind of Jihaad has to be declared by the religious leadership or by a Muslim head of state who is following the Quraan and Sunnah.
