The best, best, best cure is Roaccutane. Your doctor would have to refer you to the hospital as they monitor your blood levels very carefully while you're on it, and if you have a history of depression they'll be very wary. Also, they tend not to subscribe it until you've tried every other route (antibiotics, steroids, etc). It's basically very high levels of vitamin A.

Avoid commercial skin products completely. These only serve to block your pores so that they can't breathe at all. The lotion or soap itself may feel soothing, but it is doing serious damage in the process.

Get some pine tar soap in either bar or liquid form and wash the affected areas with this. Rinse with a solution of 50% apple cider vinegar and 50% warm water. Pat dry rather than rubbing. Additionally, ingest at least a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar every day. You can add it to your apple juice or a glass of water or make a kind of tea with it by adding it to a cup of steaming water or have a salad with apple cider vinegar and oil as the dressing. This will help work on the problem from the inside while you are working on the problem on the surface.

Pine tar soap is a specialty item that might not be readily available in most stores. The best place to find it is on ebay. Just type in the key words "pine tar soap" and you will find it readily available by home soap makers. There is a business that caters to primarily back-to-the-land types and the Amish communities called Lehmans. The link to pine tar soap is included below. I am also including a link to pine tar soaps available on ebay. That will get you in the right area. From there, you can easily search other or similar items.

Pine tar soap is an effective cleanser for all types of skin problems including acne, psoriasis, eczema, itches, rashes and even diaper rash on babies.

Hey,

Head and Shoulders shampoo is meant to actually work really well for back acne. Wash gently on your back with your hands. I also find a little bit of sun helps with any acne on my back.

If your back acne is significant, persistant, painful and scarring, then Roaccutane is a good option. You will need to see a dermatologist for a prescription, however you will not need to go to hospital. If you live in the US, you will have to go through the iPledge system and monthly blood tests, however most other countries have a far simplier process. Roaccutane is always the last solution to acne.

You could try using tea tree oil, or a back mask from Lush which is called "Mask of Magnaminty" and is supposed to be very good. Drinking water will help. If all else fails, you may need to visit your doctor, although be very careful of taking pills for acne because it can cause serious depression and suicidal tendencies... I'd rather put up with the spots! Oh and lay off the greasy fast food :)

Do you have anyone to give your back a good scrub? Sometimes we neglect our backs because we can't reach it.
Dirt and grease builds up and causes problems.
If you have no-one, Buy a long handle bath brush or Lufa to reach yourself.
You should see an improvement in no time.
