the interview itself is not long if everything is in order, and not sham marriage is assumed... if your paperwork is fine, and they don't need anything from you, if everything about your life is straight with them, you should not be in the interview for more than 15-30 minutes, but depending on where your interview is, you may wait very long, or the time of day. I had mine in Miami, at lunch time when they all take a lunch break. My appointment was at 11am, I got there at 9:30am.... it took about 45 minutes to get in the building(in a line outside, mostly in the sun), and 2 hours to see the interviewer....
in terms of just filing the paperwork for your wife, if you have not done it yet, depending on where you are, your status (citizen/resident alien), etc... it can take 3-month to 2years to process your paper work before you even get an interview, then it can take 1day to months before you know if you were denied or got through...
good luck!
