I have had tremendous problems lately with viruses. On boot up, with windows32 folder would immediately open, and I would get a ton of other random stuff opening. I just ran my anti virus programs and found several viruses, all of which removed. But the question is, How do I repair the damage the virus has done other than to restore my system with the restore cd. Help please

Depending on WHEN you got these critters, you could try a System Restore to see if that works. You can do this by going to:

START | PROGRAMS | ACCESSORIES | SYSTEM TOOLS

Then click on System Restore. If you had it turned on, you might have a restore date prior to the viruses coming up.

It sounds like you have 'malware' rather than a virus.

I suggest you try doing a scan with something like SpyBot-Search-And-Destroy (free) to pick these up.

If this doesn't help, download Xoftspy to do a better scan. This isn't free but is the best scanner that I know of.

Hope this helps. If it doesn't then let me know - I can help.
