I love reading. I dig into anything. Information overload. I usually always fall asleep reading on the bus though. I just started Cryptonomicon by Stephensen... so far so good, tis thick though.

Children do not read enough, as do many young adults. Older people tend to read more, but there are many that read just for getting a doozie fix.

I'll be totally honest with you. I can not imagine my life without books.
People read newspapers because they are interested in the goings on in their world, and they either do not have time to sit in front of the T.V. or they just prefer reading their news.
Why is reading important? It stimulates the mind, gives the eyes a good work out as well
Who reads the most, old or young? I think it's the older more educated group. The youth of today sadly have turned towards video games and t.v. for their entertainment.
Spend as much or as little time as you like reading, there's no set rule on that one. Just read.
I read at home, and I buy my books on line for the most part, though I absolutley love Borders Books and Music, I could live there.
Hope this helps.
Now get out there and read..

hobby - enjoyment.

Newspapers - as a form of entertainment and as part of a means to stay informed of events, locally, nationally, internationally.

Importance - knowledge, history - one of the main ways our society records, and disseminates knowledge - employment - necessary to obtain employment and move forward in a career path - govern - in a free society, allows people to obtain different ideas and points of view; in a closed society, a way to control the people by the information allowed to be released - enjoyment - a way to express artistically ideas, thoughts, etc, through scripts, books, poetry, etc.

who reads most - probably college students, teachers, those in higher positions in industry, and those who use it as their main form of entertainment.

habits - young people just learning are taught by example and it would depend on the school and parents the extent to which they read; older people, it would depend on their preferred form of entertainment, their job, the demands of their schedules, etc.

time - that would depend on the individual; a small child just learning should read 15 minutes a day or more; a child in elementary school between 15 minutes and one hour; a child in higher levels of education, 30 minutes to one hour or more; a college student - whatever time they call alot; an adult - depending upon their schedule at least 30 minutes a day just to stay informed - it depends greatly on the individual and the rigors of their daily life.

time - morning and before retiring.

preference - at home.

I don't see reading as a hobby, more like a past time when you are bored and want to kill some time.

Mostly, I read wherever I can concentrate better, mostly on the back porch during sunset.

i prefer reading at home. i like to read pocketbooks/novels. reading is actually a form of escapism. if you get involved in a book, it's like you're somewhere, witnessing someone else's life unfold. it's definitely interesting and can be a good way to pass the time. aside from that, reading also improves your vocabulary a lot!

Reading can be relaxing, educational, adventurous. It's wonderful. Some people who cannot read would love the opportunity to read. It depends on the person. :)
