My boyfriend got in some trouble a few weeks ago and so now he is in a youth development center for a possible 6-15 months pending behavior. We have been together for almost a year. This is our first valentine's day and i wanted to do something special. Like send him a nice card, the lyrics to that Martina McBride song "my valentine", and write him a poem. The poem I wrote is this:
All Iever wanted was to be part of your heart,And for us to be together, to never be apart.No one else in the world can even compare,You're perfect and so is this love that we share.

(granted i know you are thinking why are you wasting your life with this guy.***and wondering why he's there*** I don't love him for his record or felonies i love him for what is in his heart, which people tend to look past and judge him for what he has done. that's wrong nobody is better than anybody. Money or no money nice house nice car or no nice house or nice car EVERYONE deserves somebody and somebody that will love them at that).

First of all, the poem is way to long. Guys like the thug you are so in love with don't have a very long attention span. Secondly, being locked up he just wants to know where the money is for his account so he can buy some cheese doodles and rip. Hang out with his thug buddies and plan their next great criminal adventure on the outside. Sweetheart. the best thing you can do right now is move and don't give a forwarding address to him or anyone. I suggest Canada...lol! He will more than likely take your photo and poem and barter for some brown eye while thinking how gullible you are while everyone laughs at you. You will probably receive some mail or calls from some of his thugs trying to get close to you and your money after they read your poem. Sorry for being so blunt, but I've seen these things happen first hand as I was a Correctional Officer in many different facilities for 10 years.

I think the poem is too long also. I lost attention to read it as well. I think you should send a nice short valentines card, your photo, and some things he actually NEEDS in there. Chocolate, cigarettes, bathroom stuff that he can't afford to buy from in there but will be grateful for. He could be seriously missing even just his favourite crisps.

yes i think the words are too long --- i know i like the sentiment to be short, sweet and heartfelt --- but then with lots of face to face communication to round it out
