There is no cure. Several of my uncles and cousins stutter. The one who overcame most of his went to a speech therapist listed on the Stuttering Foundation's web site as they specializing in treating stuttering. Others who couldn't afford a therapist got some of the foundations brochures and a book called "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" and practiced, practiced, practiced. Watch their DVDs and you'll see some former stutterers who became speech therapists so they could help other people going through the same thing they went through. It can be overcome! The SpeakEasy device is not a cure as when to remove it, you will still stutter. It helps some people, but they have to always have it in - they haven't mastered their stuttering. My family couldn't/wouldn't go to the expense for that; they didn't want a "crutch" - they wanted to do the work needed to become the most fluent they could.

hey there.
It's true, there is no known cure (although there are some sources which say they have found a cure, a 'stuttering cure' is not as yet legally defined and therefore can't be scrutinised!).
When you are ready to gain control of your speech and put in a whole lot of effort, there is a program out there which will teach you speech tools to use which WILL give you control of your speech. However it is no easy route, however if you think of your most embarassing/depressing stuttering ecperience, it beats it hands down.
give the following website a read over, it could change your life: www.mcguireprogramme.com
GOOD LUCK.

Sorry to let you know that there is no cure for stuttering. However, all is not lost. With speech therapy, the stuttering can be reduced.

best thing to do is: go in front of a mirror take a verse or poem or song you like, look in the mirror concentrate on ur tongue movement and read the verse or sing the poem or song, should be alright in a month if you do it faithfully. :)

simply think before you speak i always notice that people stutter not because they have difficulty speaking or because they are unsure of themselves but because they rush to answer .
if people want your answer they will wait for it , if not they didn't want it anyway .
maybe your mind is faster than your mouth that has to be a good thing because all to often we speak without thinking .
