If you follow the rules, and there are rules to all forms of birth control, than withdrawal is 80-90% effective:

How well does it work in preventing pregnancy?

* IF
* before penetration a man who has recently ejaculated urinates to get rid of any left over sperm.
* the tip of the penis is wiped dry of lubricating fluid before penetration
* the penis IS withdrawn BEFORE ejaculation
* ejaculation occurs outside the vagina and well away from the vaginal opening
* THEN
* withdrawal has an approximately 80-90% effectiveness rate, or better.
* BUT
* control is difficult. This last minute method is risky. It offers NO protection from sexually transmitted infections, including HIV; even the pre-ejaculate fluid can contain infection along with sperm

Not very at all. Having worked with women at a Planned Parenthood and women's health clinics quite frequently, I can tell you hundreds upon hundreds of stories of women who come into the clinic and ask the same exact question.

Pre-ejaculate could have sperm in it, although very very little. More than likely, the sperm is already dead. Pre-ejaculate is used to flush out the man's urethra, as even one drop of urine can kill all the sperm. So the likelyhood of his pre-ejaculate containing living sperm is rather low.

If a living spermazoa does get into your vaginal canal, it has to make the track all the way to the egg, and it can only fertilize the egg if there is one even present. A young woman's body usually isnt consistantly emitting eggs on a monthly basis - not until she is 16 or older does her body normalize. So, especially if she is young, the chance of there being an egg present is rather low.

I've only seen one woman, out of hundreds, who could have gotten pregnant from the pre-ejaculate. And even then, we doubted that she was pregnant from the pre-ejaculate, since she was a few weeks further along than she thought she was.

Just as likely as it is to become pregnant by post-come if there are enough sperm to have at least one swim all the way to the egg.

The fluid you speak of does contain sperm. That means that there is a chance you'll get pregnant.

The best solution is to gain control over it. As someone already said, stop when you're getting there and relax. Pay more attention to pleasuring your mate--orally, perhaps--and avoid rubbing your penis up against anything while doing so. It will take work on your part and patience on both parts. As a last resort, some antidepressants curb sexual functioning with the intention of learning the pleasure of restraint after which you could taper off them. Here's your goal: the longer you can delay your orgasm, the more intense it will be. So it isn't just a matter of satisfying your mate. This is the main reason some claim stoned sex is better, unlike drunk sex which can leave you unable to perform (brewer's droop). You enjoy exploring each other longer. And remember, oral isn't just one place. It's all over, paying particular attention to kissing, and TALK about what each of you like. Strange how people don't talk about sex when they're the ones doing it.

very likely, prev responses explanations are good. Please listen to some if you dont want to fall pregnant. My cousin fell pregnant of pre-come. She had a normal baby, if you are worried.

VERY there is a higher concentration of sperm in pre-ejaculate than regular semen. (Is that SNORING in the health/sex ed class that I hear?) Why don't young people KNOW this? We were taught all of this in middle school in the DARK ages of the 60s and early 70s of the LAST century...Where were all of you kids when it was being taught?
