Do you think that religion binds people together or tears people apart?

It separates people, because the fundamentalist differences. Religion does not want to compromise by their own nature. See the religious war in Iraq or the religious war in northern Ireland as an example. Most wars fought in history are all about religion.

It binds members of each sect together, but it also sets each sect at odds with the other and causes religious wars. I'm sure that the Protestants in Ireland get on well with each other, and the Catholics get on well with each other, but when it's time for the children of Catholic parents to attend a Protestant school, watch the rocks fly.

Religions are man-made and Satan-endorsed. Becoming born again ,as Jesus said we must do (John 3:3)to see the Kingdom of God, is the ONLY way to Salvation.

Actually there is some truth in what you ask,Jesus said that He came to cast fire on the earth and that a man will be divided against his neighbor,members of a family would be also divided against one another.

Religion has nothing to do with it. People get on each others' nerves, people betray each other, people exploit one another,
people kick the downtrodden, people hate each other.
And why? because they are insulted by another's creed, race, ethnicity.
