Ok I admit Im a guy and I want a daughter, not a son. I think it would be great to raise a girl for a change.
Is there something wrong with me?

No, it's not weird. Lots of men enjoy raising daughters. My husband (now my ex, but not because of this!) wanted a daughter very badly when I was pregnant with our first child. He got his wish and they continue to have a very close bond even though she's an adult and out on her own. My ex enjoyed having a daughter so much that when we were pregnant again, he wished for another daughter. We had a son, and at first he was worried he wouldn't be able to love him as much as he did our first child. Of course, that turned out not to be true, but there's no denying that he and my daughter have a great connection.
By the way, there are several studies that say that a daughter's confidence and achievement in life are heavily based on her relationship with her father, so it's great that you want a daughter. If you have one, encourage her to stand on her own two feet, let her know you believe in her and enjoy her success!

just be happy the child is healthy when born. I raised a daughter and she came out fine. I had alot of fun dressing her up and beeing seen in public. now i have 3 great grandkids...you can be as proud of a daughter as any son, if not more so.

My husband also wanted his first born to be a girl. So you're not the only one that feels this way. When the baby turned out to be a boy, he wasnt disappointed though. There is nothing wrong with you. You are right to say how you feel. Remember you will have a girl baby if it's meant to be, I'm sure that you'll love your little one no matter what. Good luck

It depends on your true reasons for wanting a daughter. If your reasons are honest, clean and pure, what could be wrong with that? I find it refreshing. Most guys are so hung up on sons that it makes you wonder if daughters matter to them at all. Story--when we got our amnio results and found out that our daughter was a girl, my husband's face just FELL! He was soooo disappointed. When she was born, his heart just melted. I remember that first night at the hospital when she was crying and crying, he kept carrying her around singing "Daddy loves his little girl, Daddy loves her, yes he does." Over and over. I think that guys initially want boys because that is what society says they should want, but deep down in their hearts, they love their little girls--they can protect them. Little girls "soften" big, tough Daddys and give them an excuse to be gentle. Awwww, I think I'm gonna cry......

Nope. My dad was hoping for one girl and he got two! He was raised with his 2 brothers, and we were the first girls born on his side in 4 generations, so I think it was one of those curiosity things.
But if you are like some guys, you will be terrified for your 16 year old girl because you were once a 16 year old guy :P

Of course there isn't. Even my father wanted a daughter and nobody thinks to this day that there is something wrong with him.
Think as a father, not a guy, and u are perfectly right... :-)

No my I know a lot of guy who want a little girl especially when they already have a son. My boyfriend tells me all the time about how he dreams some day of walking his little princess down the aisle.

No, not at all. I always think that fathers and sons have a special relationship, but that of a father and daughter is just pure affection and love.
Its completely normal to, and I hope you do have a girl (and spoil her to bits!)
