They are both over twenty. I'm assuming they live away from home. You have a right to be happy. Explain to them that you're done raising them, you need to have a life of your own and that they should respect your decision even if they don't agree with it.

Why? You certainly have the right to a social life! What are their objections based on? Seems to me that they're being very selfish and unconcerned about you. 20 something should indicate some amount of maturity but their attitude is very juvenile.
Just tell them how its going to be, politely, and start dating.

You didn't say if you are still married to their father or widowed or divorced or what? Assuming you are single,tell them to mind their own business. You have every right to the same chance at happiness that they have. Time for your kids to BUTT OUT! And good luck to you,too. It's never too late to find love.

You are an adult as are they. You need to live your life to the fullest. They are being selfish. You deserve to love and to be loved. How long do they think you should be alone? You deserve to be happy, if they don't like it it's their problem. Love and be loved.
