Since Adam and Eve were the first (and only) human beings, their children would have no other choice than to intermarry. God did not forbid inter-family marriage until much later when there was enough people that intermarriage was not necessary (Leviticus 18:6-18). The reason that incest often results in genetic abnormalities in children is that when two people of similar genetics (i.e. a brother and sister) have children – genetic defects are far more likely to result because both parents had the same defects themselves. When people from different families have children – it is highly unlikely that both parents will have the same genetic defects. The human genetic code has become increasingly “polluted” over the centuries as genetic defects are multiplied, amplified, and passed down from generation to generation. Adam and Eve did not have any genetic defects, so that enabled them and the first few generations of their descendants to have a far greater quality of health than we do now. Adam and Eve’s children had few, if any, genetic defects. As a result, it was safe for them to intermarry. It may seem strange or even disgusting to think of Cain's wife being his sister. In the beginning, since God started with one man and one woman, the second generation would have no choice but to intermarry amongst themselves

This would be one of those times when a literal interpretation of scripture is inconvenient, and you will be told that this story is "not meant to be taken literally". So you have to pick through to separate what is "just a story" from what is "truth".

I'll let you in on a little secret: It's all stories, and if you take any of them literally, you're in trouble.

I can tell you, as a former farm kid, that inbreeding causes all traits within the related animals to surface very quickly - the most postive as well as the negative. When the negative traits compound, as they do, the results can be horrific. For this reason, the animal kingdom has an instinctive aversion to incest, and certain animals go to great lengths to outbreed.

i think adam and eve had a sexual encounter and this made the first family, and then she ran off with his best mate steve and had another sexual encounter, making another family. And she then became bored with adam and steve because they turned out to be gay, so she found herself a sexy monkey and had another sexual encounter resulting in a third family. meaning that we are not products of inbreeding, and thats why we are not all deformed. Some people are very ugly and thats the offspring that came from eve and that monkey.
but as for the rest of us our only shame is that our mum was a slut

Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Inbreeding did happen, that is true. It did happen for a long time, till the human population was large enough and our genes separated enough. Then it was forbidden by Allah (God) through his prophets…

As for being deformed well look at us humans, killing each other for things like money, gold, land, oil etc etc… that mean nothing. You are totally right but this deformation differs from person to person… look at our decision maker…. Where do you rate him???

Papa bear I agree with you ... that is why men have one rib less than women...
From this I remember a saying of the Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him and Mosses and Jesus and all the other true prophets) “Woman is born from your father's rib... If you let them as they are they will never straiten up and remain curved... If you force them to change you will break them... Treat them with wisdom"
Meaning that violence is not the answer but if you want to have the best out of the treat them with wisdom...

And yes we humans live shorter compared to our forefathers, our hight is less and our strength is less... compared to lets say the times of Mosses (peace be upon him)

Actually, we are, in that we no longer have as long a life span, nor are we as intelligent, but that also may be a result of our polluting our environment.

Adam and Eve were also brother and sister, in that Eve was cloned from Adam's rib, minus the X Chromosome.

Yes we are, and the theory that inbreeding causes deformity is a myth.

You can find anomalies in just about everything.

We are not deformed. We are in God's image the way he made us and wanted us to be..... We are really descendants of Noah because after the flood it all started over again. We are all more civilized now and we know not to breed with our own relatives so that doesn't happen

According to the bible, we are. Remember that the first humans lived well into their late 100s, something like 600-800 years old. We fight and do everything we can to live past 80.
