My mouse is frozen, can somebody in "IT" help me, I got a new mouse and it was great for a couple of months, now the new one is freezing also, especially if I am playing solitaire or spider solitaire the cards just freeze in mid air. Sometimes it starts to move again if i just keep pushing buttons, and pressing control and pressing the mouse that is supposed to move it but that doesn't always work. Please somebody help me I can't do anything if that doesn't work. Thank you, thank you.

Is it a laser mouse or a mouse with a ball in it? If it has a ball in it try removing it and cleaning out the moving parts inside. There are these little spindles inside and if theres hair or something wrapped around them it will act like that. If its a laser mouse try cleaning off the eye on the underneath first. We used to mess with people by putting tape over the laser eye on the bottom, which makes the mouse act about like you're describing. Honestly it doesnt sound like any kind of software issue, but something physically wrong with the mouse.

This doesn't sound like a software problem.

The most likely problem is dirt in or under your mouse. If the mouse has a ball under it, take out the ball and clean the rollers that you can see inside. If it's an optical mouse (no ball) then make sure everything is clean.

Go to www.downloads.com and download new mouse drivers.

The site will detect which drivers are compatible for your machine.

It could be that the Virtual Memory in your machine is low.

Check it under MY COMPUTER properties Virtual Memory
