One country will say they have good intelligence reports that another country is going to nuke them and continue to nuke the other country as a preemptive step. What do you think about the chance of this happening ?

Some, including current and ex government officials are concerned that the next use of a nuclear weapon will be by the US or Israeli in a strike on Iran.

This type of preemptive attack is likely because the administration will need a serious issue to allow expansion of the Iraq war.

A nuclear threat or attack on Israel would provide that issue.

There are only two entities in the world that could successfully deploy a nuclear weapon without ensuring the complete destruction of their nation. They are terrorists and the US/Israel.

All of the world leaders are aware of this. I can not believe any of them, despite the media propaganda regarding their grasp of reality, would commit national suicide.

There are some that believe that the tactical use of nuclear weapons would strengthen the US position in the world by reminding any country that opposes US policies of the horrors of our true military might.

They are some very scary people.

Israel will nuke Iran as a preemptive strike. The current Iranian president has already declared in public that they will wipe Israel from the face of the earth.

Iran is also working on a nuclear weapons program.

Any nuclear attack will probably a terrorist strike. The main reason nukes are not used is there is no money in it. It is far more profitable for an economy to be at war by conventional means. It creates jobs in the civil sector as well as in the military. A nuke ends the war almost immediately and then you build a replacement bomb and back to business as usual.

The US and allies have no need of nuclear weapons, except perhaps as some theoretical deterrant. So it's very likely we'll never use one.

Our weapons systems and guidance are so sophisticated now that we're getting to the point where nuclear warfare is obsolete.

The first to use a nuke will likely be a rogue state desperate for power or attention.

The next nuclear attack will actually be preempting a preemptive attack. One country will hear that another has intelligence that they will be planning a nuclear attack, and are planning a preemptive attack, and then that country will launch one to preempt it.

Intellegence reports? That is an oxymoron. Remember the so called weapons of mass destruction that allowd Bush to go to start the Iraq situation we are in now?

Why Israel have nuclear warheads and who has provided Israel with nuclear bombs?......Iran says it's looking for nuclear power to generate electricity while Israel thread Iran to nuclear bombard of its plants. US is the only country which has used atomic bomb and responsible to murder almost 100,000 people. So you tell me who is a real thread for world security.
