depends on who's family you are talking about. . Mine,? They have their moments were I love being around them, at least when i was younger and most of them were alive.
Mom and grandma drank too much and dad never left the living room and grandpa would drink so much he would start calling me steve. Who ever that was, we do not have a steve in our family.
My ex's family was really nice and sweet until you started talking about religion or education or someones lack of education or god forbit you cused infront of them. Then would think you had no education and it was the way you were raised.
My boyfriends family is ok as long as you can stand sitting in the room with all of them for about six hours of them sitting and not saying anything and just watch them all looking at the ceiling or floor. And i mean NOT talking, no one.
Mostly I like a glass of wine, the tv, and a nice book.

For the most part yes. Our family is large and throughout the years there have been many...some more memorable than others. There will always be the instigators or a few who don't get along but I just don't get involved. It is always nice to see everyone and catch up. Usually lots of things for kids to do to keep them occupied and the adults socialize. I think teenagers are the ones who sometimes have a problem with family gatherings as they would rather be with their friends. If they have cousins their age they may be more open to them and actually enjoy themselves.

Dude........yes. If you don't like your family, that means you'll always wear ill-fitting pants.
Listen, remember when you were a kid. Getting together with Bubsy and the twins at Christmas time? That can be again.

errrr.... not really coz to me, family gatherings equal to gossips! there'll be some aunts & uncles who just wanna compare their kids to each other's & then there'll be nieces who come to the gatherings all heavily made-up & start announcing publicly who their current boyfreinds are. we all end up trying to out-do each other! lol! scary!!!
